THE SIERRA TARAHUMARA

The Sierra Tarahumara is an extensive area of over 50,000 square kilometers. It is actually part of the Sierra Madre Occidental, the Western Sierra Madre. It is the home of the Tarahumara Indian people. Even though most of the Sierra is full of rural dirt roads, all major points of interest are now connected to Creel by means of modern paved highways and the Chihuahua al Pacifico Railroad.
